I wore a Wambui Mukenyi, from her recent collection and I paired the outfit with my spiked gold heels and I went for an Ankara/leather clutch courtesy of Wanyika Mshila, the designer of FroqAfriq.

The outfit was quite daring yet chic, people complimented me on the yellow jacket and the clutch. One of my fave looks to date.

Same day I WON the BAKE Awards, I want to take this chance and thank everyone who voted. You guys are the best. I got a certificate and the prize is a one month advert of the Capital FM website. I dedicate the certificate to you because you guys made it happen.

The collection is made of tye and dye print and it included tees too. The “tree hugger” tees were limited editions of 100 pieces.

Katungulu’s collection was inspired by the Tuareg People. The collection consisted of mostly neutral colours, flowy fabrics and layered pieces.

Her collection “Gaia” was for expectant mothers but the clothes can still be worn even before or after the baby is born.

The garments can transform to different designs pieces in a matter of seconds depending on how you wear them.

The collection features exclusively handmade jewelry, belts, bags. They are made from recycled materials like brass, aluminium and denim. Leather, horn, wax print fabric and kuba cloth are also used.

The designs incorporate both African traditional heritage and western influences.

I was approached a few months ago to do a video coverage for Tribal Chic 2012. It was very exciting and also something I’ve always wanted to do. Tribal Chic 2012 was on 5th May 2012 and there were seven designers show casing.
