i saw the first two pictures online last year during fashion week and i was like who the hell? this guy does know his style…i got his name and googled him but nothing came up about him! The last picture i came across it yesterday and i really love his style, he’s Han Shang, a Chinese Fashion Editor. Well for the last couple of weeks I’ve been looking for street style pictures, especially men’s street style and i tell you I’ve only gotten like two pictures…am not looking for just a guy in a suit or in a sweater and a shirt am looking for guys who you cab see they went out of their way to look good. Generally street style here in Kenya is not celebrated, there more pictures out there of people who’ve been dissed about their bad style other than pictures of stylish people, stylish common mwnanchi….this should change! My inspiration mostly comes from Japanese street style…they don’t conform to the norm, I’ll talk about that next week.
NB: am not telling you to dress like him, its all about individuality and personal style…he has his and you should have yours too!

I agree that there is very little "Streetstyle" by men in Kenya. While I don't consider the style of Han Shang to be for "everybody", mainly because I come from a caribbean culture where there are distinct lines for masculine and feminine fashion, and consider Han's style a notch to feminine to the point of gayish (and as a caribbean man you don't want to be caught gay, it is a fact that streetfashion is almost nonexistant in Kenya. I consider streetstyle to be an expression of ones individuality, and this expression is missing amongst most men. They rather opt to copy a style to express their alligience to something. But this can be seen all over the world in various extends.
There is one thing though I have to give to Kenyan men in their defense. The availability of unique pieces of clothing or anything out of the ordinary is limited in Kenya. Much more so then for women. This is mostly due to the fact that most importers don't see men is a lucrative marked and rather concentrate on women
Nice piece.
As for the guy… Gay… totally gay.
I wouldn't want my guy dressing like this…he looks like a she!! if this is what fashion forward means, then i think he be backwards.
In Kenya, fashion for men is something we are lacking…

I think most Kenyans are afraid to stand out..we have a culture of "hush up and just blend in"..If individualism and style was encouraged we would easily be able to come up with our own 50 Most Stylish Nairobians..:)
